IBADAN — Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has announced a three-month extension of the ₦25,000 monthly wage award for civil servants and ₦10,000 for pensioners, along with the continuation of the subsidized transport scheme under the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) initiative.
The governor disclosed the package on Friday, September 18, 2026, while resuming office at the State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, following his one-month annual vacation.
Addressing state workers, government officials, and organized labor leaders, Makinde stated that the extension—running through December 2026—is designed to insulate workers from mounting inflationary pressures following recent surges in PMS pump prices.
