ABUJA — The vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has firmly dismissed speculations that the party’s joint presidential ticket with Peter Obi will be withdrawn in favor of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or any other political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a public statement released on his verified social media accounts, the former Kano State governor described claims of an impending step-down or alliance as baseless rumors intended to mislead supporters as political realignments intensify.
Kwankwaso asserted that the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or any rival candidate, stressing that the NDC remains fully confident in its capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria.
Criticizing the ADC Presidential Campaign Council for launching unprovoked attacks against the NDC leadership, Kwankwaso urged the party to focus its campaign on addressing public concerns rather than spreading unfounded speculation about the NDC’s electoral participation.
