‘2027 Not a Replay of 2023’ — Lagos APC Warns Peter Obi Against Relying on Past Momentum

LAGOS — The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned opposition leader Peter Obi that the 2027 general elections will not be a replay of the 2023 polls, urging him to focus on building concrete policy structures rather than relying on social media sentiment.

The Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, stated that Obi’s initial political surge drew strength from public frustration and novelty—factors that cannot be mechanically reproduced in 2027.

Oladejo questioned Obi’s political consistency, criticizing his frequent movement across political platforms—including APGA, PDP, LP, and political realignments—as an indicator of personal ambition over enduring ideological principles.

The ruling party challenged Obi to clearly articulate how he intends to address complex national issues like inflation, unemployment, public debt, and energy deficits, insisting that presidential leadership demands concrete trade-offs rather than rhetorical slogans.

Urging opposition groups to move past online activism and protest politics, the APC emphasized that the outcome of the 2027 election will ultimately be decided by candidates who demonstrate verified competence, grassroots organization, and credibility
