LAGOS — Billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Femi Otedola, has shared nostalgic memories of his long-standing relationship with the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, revealing that they shared a bunk bed in boarding school 49 years ago.
Otedola made the revelation while hosting a dinner in honor of the deputy governor, describing Hamzat as a lifelong friend whose integrity and dedication have remained steadfast since their childhood days.
Reflecting on their school years, Otedola praised Hamzat’s personal qualities, stating that his character over the past five decades has consistently been defined by honesty, fairness, sincerity, and strong moral principles. Referring to him as the “incoming governor” ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial contest, Otedola expressed confidence in Hamzat’s leadership abilities to drive the future development of Lagos State.
The event was attended by prominent captains of industry, political leaders, and business moguls—including Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu—who gathered to celebrate the deputy governor.
