ReachOut Nigeria is set to distribute 100 million copies of Rhapsody of Realities across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas as the annual nationwide campaign marks its 20th edition amid celebrations of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The campaign, organised under the theme, “Celebrating 20 Years of Impact, Taking Rhapsody to Every Man’s World,” is expected to reach adults, youths, teenagers, children and people with accessibility needs in cities, towns, villages and hinterlands across the country.
According to the organisers, the 20th edition represents the biggest nationwide campaign yet in the history of ReachOut Nigeria, which began in 2007 with a vision to inspire hope, promote patriotism and empower Nigerians through the message of God’s Word.
Beyond the mass distribution of the devotional, the campaign has evolved into a nationwide movement combining evangelism with humanitarian and community-development initiatives.
These initiatives have included potable-water projects, support for schools and libraries, healthcare interventions, renovations and support for public institutions, as well as other projects aimed at addressing community needs.
200 boreholes for 200 communities
As part of this year’s edition, the organisers said 200 boreholes would be provided in 200 communities, alongside other community-development projects intended to create tangible assets and improve lives.
The devotional will be distributed in Nigerian indigenous languages and in multiple formats, including print, digital, audio and Braille, with additional innovations aimed at making the Gospel accessible to blind and deaf Nigerians.
The campaign is targeting 1,009 Nigerian languages, with 650 already represented in print.
Rhapsody of Realities, authored by Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome, is described by the organisers as being available in 8,123 languages and more than 4,000 dialects, in print, digital, audio, Braille and Sign Language formats.
10 dimensions of impact
Throughout October, the 20th edition will feature activities across what the organisers describe as 10 Dimensions of Impact: Crusades; Church Growth; Community Transformation; Community Reading Outreaches; Street Expressions; Conferences, Media and Exhibitions; Concerts and Praise Experiences; Champions League and Games; ReachOut Community of Practice; and ReachOut to Schools.
The programme will include community and End-time Crusades, school and reading outreaches, carnivals, floats and processions, concerts and praise experiences, sports and youth activities, professional outreach, conferences and exhibitions.
There will also be a National Day of Prayer and 31 consecutive days of the ReachOut Nigeria Live Show.
A special ReachOut Nigeria Symposium is scheduled for October 30 to showcase the campaign’s two-decade journey, community impact, innovations and stories of lives transformed.
The organisers said the campaign would take the devotional into virtually every sphere of Nigerian society, including offices, shops, schools, barracks, communities and public transportation systems such as buses, trains and airplanes.
The 20th edition is being presented as both a celebration of ReachOut Nigeria’s achievements over two decades and a renewal of its founding commitment to transforming lives through the Word of God while encouraging Nigerians to make tangible contributions to their communities and the nation.
The campaign’s organisers summed up the milestone with the message: “Twenty years. 100 million copies: Taking Rhapsody to Every Man’s World.”
