President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain united, resilient, and supportive of government efforts to overcome economic and security challenges, as the country marks the 2026 Easter celebration. He acknowledged the persistence of insecurity despite ongoing efforts by his administration and the Armed Forces. “Challenges to our security have remained,” he said, while commending the “gallant efforts” of military personnel working to combat terrorism and banditry. He added that his government is committing more resources and strengthening foreign partnerships to tackle threats decisively. The President referenced his recent visit to Jos, where he met with victims of violence in Plateau State, offering condolences and assurances of improved security. According to him, security chiefs have provided strong assurances of progress, supported by international cooperation. Tinubu expressed confidence that government efforts are beginning to yield results across parts of the country affected by insecurity, urging citizens to support lawful initiatives and promote unity. “No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace,” he stated.
