Caleb University, Imota, has urged its alumni to document their life stories and entrepreneurial experiences as a way of contributing to knowledge, inspiring future generations, and promoting sustainable business growth in Nigeria.
This call was made during a virtual Alumni Knowledge Exchange Series themed “Dynamics of Entrepreneurship Promotion in Nigeria”, organised by the Centre for Parents Engagement and Alumni Relations (C-PEARS).
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia reaffirmed the university’s commitment to strengthening alumni engagement and described the series as a platform for continuous learning and global networking, noting that it “has come to stay.”
Keynote speaker, Mr. Laja Shoniran, a Management and Human Reengineering Consultant, urged Nigerians—especially those above 50—to document their experiences through writing, describing it as a duty to humanity and a vital way to preserve entrepreneurial knowledge and legacies.
Acting Director of C-PEARS, Dr. Solomon Oyeleye said the initiative bridges the gap between academia and real-world practice while reinforcing Caleb University’s vision of producing self-reliant graduates.
Also speaking, President of the Caleb University Alumni Network, Arc. Christian Odefadehan commended the initiative and called for stronger institutional support for innovation and business incubation.
In a Press statement, Olawale Adekoya, the Information, Media and Publication Specialist affirmed that the interactive webinar attracted alumni, faculty, analysts, opinion leaders and members of the public, who shared insights on promoting entrepreneurship and sustaining business development in Nigeria, a key objective that resonates with the seven-point agenda of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Asikhia.
