Daughters of Late Yoruba Film Icon Ogogo Announce Full Entry Into Nollywood

LAGOS — The daughters of late legendary Yoruba film star Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have announced plans to venture full-time into the Nigerian film industry as professional actors and content creators to preserve their father’s legacy.

The announcement was made in a joint video broadcast released by Lima Olamide Taiwo (Lima Ogogo) and her sister Shakira Taiwo (Kira Ogogo).

The sisters used the address to express appreciation to fans, industry colleagues, and government officials for their overwhelming support following the passing of their father in August.

“On behalf of my family and I, we want to say thank you very much to everybody who stood by us,” Lima said, acknowledging condolences and assistance received from key figures, including Nigeria’s First Lady, Ogun State officials, and prominent traditional leaders.

Declaring their intention to build sustainable careers in acting and filmmaking, the sisters urged fans and supporters to extend the affection shown to their father toward their upcoming projects, which will be distributed through their digital production outlets, including KiraOgogoTV.

“We are coming into the industry, and we are here to stay,” the sisters declared, emphasizing that their involvement will go beyond tribute projects to encompass full-scale film productions and original screen performances.
