The formal clearance follows weeks of extensive state congresses, consensus harmonization, and candidate vetting overseen by the party’s National Screening Committee in Abuja. Presenting the validated candidates at a press briefing on Saturday, September 5, 2026, the NDC National Leadership declared that the party’s platform has successfully integrated key political networks, civil society blocs, and reform-minded leaders seeking a direct alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
