Those claiming I’m from Ekiti are jesters – Yayi

ABEOKUTA — The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District and leading All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has dismissed ongoing claims that he hails from Ekiti State, describing those spreading the narrative as “political jesters.”

Addressing journalists and party stakeholders in Abeokuta on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the Senate Committee Chairman on Appropriations cleared the air regarding his state of origin, affirming that his ancestral roots remain firmly planted in Pahayi, Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Yayi noted that the allegations were manufactured by political detractors unsettled by his growing political momentum ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship race.

The lawmaker emphasized that his developmental blueprint, anchored on the “ITESIWAJU” agenda, focuses on expanding infrastructure, enhancing security, boosting agricultural productivity, and driving industrialization across the three senatorial districts.

Addressing equity concerns, Senator Adeola pointed out that Ogun West remains the only senatorial zone that has yet to produce a governor since the creation of Ogun State 50 years ago. He urged party faithful and voters across the state to disregard political distractions and focus on electing experienced leadership capable of consolidating state development.
