ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has admitted to issuing seven official Federal Government vehicle number plates to the fictitious Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), explaining that the agency fell victim to an elaborate deception carried out by self-styled Director-General Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi.
Appearing before the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating the fake agency on Thursday, August 6, 2026, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed submitted a comprehensive memorandum defending the corps’ actions. Mohammed revealed that the FRSC acted strictly in accordance with administrative procedures after conducting physical office inspections, inspecting vehicles, and verifying a government-domain website provided by Adeyemi.
The disclosure came as representatives of the State House formally disowned the PFIPC at the same hearing, stating that the Presidency had no hand in creating the council or requesting budget lines for its operations.
