LAGOS — Lagos State lawmaker and Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot, has publicly apologized and sought reconciliation with the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, following internal political friction within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Surulere.
In a viral video circulated on Sunday, September 13, 2026, the lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly was seen going on his knees and prostrating before the former Speaker of the House of Representatives during a closed-door meeting with party chieftains in Lagos.
Elliot expressed deep remorse over his conduct during recent internal party disputes, admitting that he may have been misguided during the political tussle surrounding the APC primary election and the House of Assembly leadership crisis.
“I’m sorry. I have no excuse; I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry. I’m deeply sorry, sir. And in our culture, we prostrate. Don’t be angry, Daddy,” Elliot pleaded, before Gbajabiamila instructed him to stand.
