The Osun State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned a 25-year old man, Adeolu Kazeem before an Osogbo Magistrate court for allegedly damaging chairs belonging to one Idayat Opeleye.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that Kazeem destroyed the chairs worth N120,000 sometime in the year 2012.
He added that the offence contravened section 440 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume. II Laws of Osun Sate Nigeria 2003.
The accused person however pleaded not guilty to the allegations leveled against him.
Defence counsel, Mr Nurudeen Sanusi, applied for the bail of accused in the most liberal terms.
Sanusi who urged the court to temper justice with mercy on his client, said he was still presume innocent until contrary is proved by a court of law.
He assured that court the accused would not jump the bail if granted, adding that a reliable surety is ready to stand for the suspect.
In his ruling, Magistrate Olusola Aluko granted the accused the bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like form.
Aluko ordered that the address of the sureties be verified by the Policy in charge of the case and they must be residents within the jurisdiction.
He, thereafter, adjourned the case till March 6, 2017 for mention.
