Former Minister of Power and governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has dismissed widespread rumors suggesting he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) following recent friction over party primary processes.
In a statement issued by his media team in Ibadan, Adelabu reaffirmed his unalloyed loyalty to the ruling party and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, putting an end to speculation that he was considering an alternative political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I Am Staying to Build, Not to Leave”
Addressing party leaders and supporters during a strategic consultation in Ibadan, Adelabu made it clear that grievances regarding internal party processes do not translate into leaving the APC:
“Let me state unequivocally: I remain a committed, loyal, and dedicated member of the All Progressives Congress. Reports that I am planning to defect to another party are completely false and the handiwork of political detractors trying to create division.
