ABUJA — The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled an aggressive investment campaign aimed at mobilizing $78.5 billion in private sector capital to finance 65 key infrastructure and development projects across critical sectors of the national economy.
Presenting the comprehensive investment pipeline during international economic engagements, government officials revealed that the project portfolio is strategically designed to drive economic diversification, expand national industrial capacity, and generate over 366,000 direct and indirect jobs nationwide.
According to official project breakdowns, the energy and transportation sectors account for the lion’s share of the proposed investments, requiring $61.4 billion, while 17 mega-projects alone represent $72.3 billion of the total target.
To entice both foreign and domestic private capital into the 65 designated ventures, the Federal Government outlined attractive investment frameworks, including provisions for up to 100 percent foreign ownership, tailored tax incentives, streamlined business regulations, and enhanced legal protections for private investors.
Speaking on the broader economic landscape, policy leaders emphasized that recent structural reforms—including foreign exchange stabilization and foreign reserve accumulation—have created a more resilient environment for private capital, positioning the investment pipeline as a key pillar for sustainable growth, power expansion, and job creation.
