
ADO-EKITI — The Governing Council of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has approved the appointment of Dr. Jadesola Taiwo Babatola as the 7th substantive Registrar and Secretary to Council of the institution.
The decision was ratified at the end of the council’s statutory meeting held on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Dr. Babatola, who served as a Deputy Registrar at EKSU prior to this elevation, succeeds Mr. Ife Joseph Oluwole, whose tenure as the 6th substantive Registrar winds down. His five-year term officially takes effect on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Academic Background: He earned his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History from Ondo State University (now EKSU) in 1990, an MSc in Political Science (Public Administration) from the University of Ibadan in 1997, and a PhD in History and International Studies from EKSU in 2019.

Institutional Career: Joining EKSU as an Administrative Officer I in 2001, Dr. Babatola has built over two decades of higher education management experience. He previously served as Registrar at the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), Ondo (2017–2018), and Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe Island, Bayelsa State (2018–2021).

Alumni & Public Service: He provided leadership as the Global Alumni President of EKSU in 2007 and formerly served as a Commissioner in the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
