APC’s Shuaibu wins Kano bye-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Rabiu Shuaibu, winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Umar Sani, declared Shuaibu winner of the election held on Saturday.

He said that Shuaibu polled 35,356 votes to defeat Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who scored 268 votes, and LP’s Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad, with 98 votes.

“The election was contested. That Rabiu Shuaibu of APC having certified the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” he said.

The by-election was to fill the vacuum created by the death of Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the NNPP.
