Chief Obinna Atuonu, the Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, has passed away after collapsing during a church service in Aba. The 65-year-old politician was addressing the parishioners when he suddenly fell ill.
According to reports by The Nation, his brother, Dr. Chiedozie Atuonu, received a distress call and rushed to Aba from Umuahia, only to find his brother in critical condition. Despite efforts to save him, Chief Atuonu was confirmed dead at the hospital.
The late APC secretary’s body has been deposited at the mortuary, leaving behind a legacy of political dedication and service to the people of Abia State. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves throughout the political landscape, with condolences pouring in from colleagues and well-wishers.
