The President, in a statement, said he was outraged by the abduction and killing of innocent citizens in the state, describing the perpetrators as “enemies of peace and enemies of humanity.”
He warned that those responsible for the attack on defenceless Nigerians would not go unpunished.
Tinubu also expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the attack, praying for the repose of the victims’ souls and for strength for their loved ones to bear the loss.
“You are not alone. The entire nation shares your anguish. We will not rest until your sons, daughters, mothers and fathers are brought back safely to you,” the President said.
He further directed the Service Chiefs to provide him with regular briefings on the progress of the rescue operation until all those abducted have been accounted for.
The President vowed that the latest attack would not weaken the country’s resolve to confront terrorism and other forms of violent crime.
“Terror will not cow Nigeria. We will defend our people, protect our communities, and uphold the sanctity of human life,” he said.
Tinubu assured the people of Niger State that the Federal Government stood firmly with the state government and would provide all necessary support for recovery, relief and the reinforcement of security.
He also offered prayers for the people of the state as they grapple with the aftermath of the attack.
