ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has directed Timipre Sylva, former Governor of Bayelsa State and former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, to present himself for questioning over an alleged $14.86 million ($14,859,257) fraud case.
The directive from EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale came on Monday, August 31, 2026, following Sylva’s public resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and his allegations that the anti-graft agency has turned into a political arm of the governing party.
