Wale Edun, the Lagos-bred economist and a core member of the “Tinubu Dynasty” since his days as Lagos Finance Commissioner (1999–2004), reportedly turned 70 on Monday and decided it was time to focus on his health and private life. Insiders say Edun’s birthday gift to the President was his resignation letter, in which he praised Nigeria for becoming “stronger and more resilient” under Tinubu’s watch.
