LAGOS / ABUJA — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially introduced a data-driven, Real-Time Operational Readiness Tracker designed to monitor election logistics, technical deployments, and staff preparedness across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Monday, September 7, 2026, during the opening of a two-day Strategic Operational Workshop for Administrative Secretaries in Ikeja, Lagos, INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN) declared that the tool will shift the Commission from “reactive crisis management to proactive, data-driven planning.”
The initiative produces a standardized Administrative Secretary Master Operational Tracker Template, linked directly to the Commission’s central Election Monitoring and Support Centre (EMSC) dashboard and the overarching Election Project Plan (EPP). The system provides Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs), Supervising National Commissioners, and Commission leadership instant visibility into state-level logistics, Permanent Voter Card (PVC) distribution, and ad-hoc staff training.
