A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) C-130 aircraft on a ferry mission to Portugal made a safe precautionary landing in Bobo-Dioulasso on December 8, 2025, following the detection of a technical issue shortly after takeoff from Lagos.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the NAF said the crew observed the technical concern during the flight and, in line with standard safety procedures and international aviation protocols, diverted to the nearest suitable airfield.
“The crew is safe and has received cordial treatment from host authorities in Burkina Faso,” the statement said.
The Air Force added that plans are already underway to resume the mission as scheduled, assuring the public of its continued commitment to strict operational and safety standards.
The statement was signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, and dated December 9, 2025.
