In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda described the successful rescue as a clear demonstration of the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.
He congratulated the security agencies and Nigerians on the safe release of the victims, saying it brought relief after days of anxiety, uncertainty and emotional anguish.
According to him, the coordinated efforts of the nation’s security agencies, working closely with the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government, were instrumental in ensuring the safe return of the abducted pupils and their teachers.
The APC National Chairman expressed sympathy for the victims and their families, acknowledging the psychological and emotional trauma they experienced during their captivity. He prayed for their complete healing, renewed strength and the courage to overcome the painful memories of the ordeal.
Yilwatda also praised the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local intelligence networks and other security and emergency agencies involved in the operation. He said the successful rescue highlighted the importance of intelligence sharing, inter-agency cooperation and sustained collaboration in addressing the country’s security challenges.
He further commended the Oyo State Government for working closely with the Federal Government and security agencies throughout the rescue mission, noting that national security remains a shared responsibility that transcends political differences.
Reaffirming the APC-led Federal Government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, Yilwatda said the Tinubu administration would continue to strengthen the nation’s security architecture through improved intelligence gathering, deployment of modern technology and enhanced support for security agencies.
“The safety of Nigerians remains the foremost responsibility of government. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leaving no stone unturned in his determination to rid the country of criminality and create a secure environment where every Nigerian can live, work, learn and pursue legitimate livelihoods without fear,” he said.
While celebrating the release of the captives, the APC chairman urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent criminal activities and aid ongoing security operations.
He stressed that tackling terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes requires collective vigilance and close collaboration between citizens and security institutions.
Yilwatda also expressed confidence in the ongoing security reforms of the Tinubu administration, assuring Nigerians that the Federal Government would continue intensifying efforts to make every part of the country safe, peaceful and secure.
