LAGOS, NIGERIA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has disclosed that approximately 147 structures in Lagos State will be affected by the construction of the service lane and drainage infrastructure for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
Speaking on Sunday, August 9, 2026, during a stakeholder engagement and flag-off event for rehabilitation works on the Eko Bridge, Marine Bridge, and flood-damaged sections of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the President reassured affected property owners that compensations will be paid by the Federal Government where applicable.
Delivering the President’s address, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu explained that out of the 147 identified structures, only five will undergo full demolition, while the remaining 142 will experience minimal impact.
