President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi, the mother of the former Governor of Rivers State and former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
The late matriarch passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the age of 89.
In a condolence statement issued on Friday, July 17, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the deceased as a woman of profound faith, humility, and selfless service whose life left an indelible mark on her family and community.
