President Tinubu Assures Investors of Competitive Business Climate, Calls for Local Value Addition

ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a more predictable, competitive, and supportive environment for local and foreign capital, declaring that Nigeria remains unequivocally open for enterprise.

The President’s assurance was delivered on Monday, September 14, 2026, by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, who represented the President at the 75th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

President Tinubu emphasized that ongoing structural reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda are targeted at removing practical bottlenecks confronting business operations, building domestic productive capacity, and transitioning the nation from an import-dependent consumer base into an industrial manufacturing hub.

“Our message to investors, both Nigerian and international, is clear: Nigeria is open for business, and we are working to make the business environment more predictable, more competitive and more supportive of investment,” President Tinubu stated. “We are interested not only in the amount of capital that comes into Nigeria, but in what that capital does here. Does it create jobs? Does it strengthen Nigerian businesses? Does it develop skills? Does it increase local sourcing?”
