Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for ensuring a hitch-free exercise during the Anambra governorship election held on Saturday .
Otti who stated this in his congratulatory message to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election, said the best and the easiest way to deepen Nigeria’s democracy is to allow the people to freely choose their leaders through the ballot at all times.
He also praised INEC for the timely announcement of the election results, describing Soludo’s landslide victory as a testament to the confidence the people of Anambra repose in him.
He urged the governor to consolidate on his achievements during his first tenure and extend an olive branch to his opponents in the election.
According to him, the olive branch will ensure that a stronger development-oriented synergy will be built when everyone that has something to offer for the development of Anambra State is part of governance.
