Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, alongside his deputy, Monisade Afuye, has been sworn in for a second four-year term in office during a ceremony held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti.
The oath of allegiance and oath of office were administered by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, following Oyebanji’s victory under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the event to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and deliver congratulations on behalf of the Federal Government. Other notable dignitaries present included APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, several state governors, traditional rulers, and senior political leaders.
In his inaugural address, Governor Oyebanji pledged to build upon the achievements of his first administration by focusing on infrastructure expansion, agricultural development, essential public services, and economic growth across the state’s 16 local government areas.
