President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have paid glowing tribute to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, as he marks his 84th birthday on March 2, 2026.

In a State House press statement released on Sunday, the President described Pastor Adeboye as “one of our nation’s greatest gifts” and “a spiritual fortress, interceding for Nigeria and its people to God Almighty.”
President Tinubu commended the revered cleric’s humility and profound wisdom, noting that his contributions to Nigeria extend far beyond the pulpit. According to the statement, Pastor Adeboye’s impact spans philanthropy, healthcare, education and economic empowerment, in addition to his spiritual leadership.
The President and the First Lady celebrated what they termed “the grace of stewardship and leadership” upon the life of the cleric, fondly called Daddy G.O., and congratulated him on attaining the milestone age of 84.
They also joined Pastor Adeboye’s wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, members of the RCCG and the wider Body of Christ in expressing gratitude to God for what they described as the General Overseer’s exceptional life of impact that transcends cultures and borders.
President Tinubu thanked the cleric for his unceasing prayers for the nation and praised his patriotic zeal, manifest determination and commitment to Nigeria’s progress. He further acknowledged Pastor Adeboye’s unique leadership role, highlighting that his teachings over the past five decades have continued to shape and transform lives across generations in Nigeria and beyond.
“As Daddy G.O. celebrates this special day, we pray that God Almighty continues to bless him with good health and strength as he continues his good work in the Lord’s vineyard,” the statement added.
The tribute was issued on March 1, 2026, under the hashtag #PresidentialVillaUpdate.
