“I have gone back to our family” — Fubara backs Chinda, declares support for Wike-backed coalition

In a major political turn of events in Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has formally declared his support for the Rainbow Coalition—the cross-party political structure assembled under the influence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Riven Medical Industries Project in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara directed his loyalists to align fully with the coalition and throw their weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Hon. Kingsley Chinda, as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The Time for War Is Over”

Addressing supporters and stakeholders, Governor Fubara signaled an end to months of intense political friction in the state, emphasizing that peace and political alignment are essential for progress.

We have made peace in the state, and I am supporting our Rainbow Coalition. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our President, and he is the one we are supporting. O. K. Chinda is the governorship candidate that I am supporting, and anybody who believes in me will support him and every other candidate under the Rainbow Coalition.” — Gov. Siminalayi Fubara

Declaring his return to the shared political fold, the governor added:

I’ve gone back to our family. So, please, whoever you are, give your total support to the Rainbow Coalition. We need to move forward. The time for war is over. It is time for peace, and this peace is taking us to another level… Don’t go anywhere and say you’re supporting Fubara. No. My position is this: I have said it here clearly for everyone to hear.” — Gov. Siminalayi Fubara

Economic Focus Amid Political Truce

The public declaration coincided with the kickoff of the Riven Medical Industries Project, a landmark Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Rivers State Government and Enbay Pharmaceutical Industries Limited.

Governor Fubara urged the project developers to adhere strictly to construction timelines and complete the initial phase within three months, stating that the state’s restored political stability would pave the way for accelerated industrial and healthcare development.
