BENIN CITY, EDO STATE — Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has officially sworn in the newly appointed leadership of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission and the Edo State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers in Government House, Benin City, where the governor charged the new appointees to drive policy frameworks capable of attracting private sector investment and strengthening rural energy access.
Key Appointments & Commission Composition

Ecological Funding & Management Commission: Sworn in with Mr. Terry Igiebor as Chairman alongside Prof. David Osifo as a statutory member.

Edo State Electricity Regulatory Commission: Sworn in with Dr. Shittu Shaibu as Chairman. Inaugurated board members include Mr. Thomas Inegbedion, Abdulrasak Abubakar, Alex Oniawu, and Patrick Iluobe.

Addressing the newly inaugurated chairmen and board members, Governor Okpebholo noted that the responsibilities before both commissions are demanding but vital to fulfilling his administration’s developmental commitments:

Rural Electrification Focus: Okpebholo emphasized that boosting off-grid and rural electrification required coordinated hard work, urging board members to harmonize state energy policies with incoming private stakeholders.

Policy-Driven Investment: The governor revealed that multiple energy investors have indicated interest in Edo State’s power market, adding: “If we have good policies in place that will drive the process, then we will have whatever we desire. Please be dedicated and focused on your duties.”
