Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State is set to deliver the keynote address at the 6th annual lecture of Freedom Online newspaper, scheduled for Thursday in Lagos.
According to a statement by the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of Freedom Online, Gabriel Akinadewo, Fubara will serve as the Special Guest Speaker, while former Ogun State Governor and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, will deliver the keynote speech. The theme of this year’s lecture is “Nigeria’s Socio-Political Challenges: Whose Fault—Leaders or the Led?”
Presiding over the event as Chairman is former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George. Other distinguished guests include former Minister of Police Affairs, retired Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, who will be the Special Guest of Honour; Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams; and former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside, both serving as Guests of Honour. Also in attendance will be Professor Akin Onigbinde, Executive Secretary of the Centre for Policy and Development Studies, Ilepa, Ogun State, as a Special Guest.
The event will be hosted by Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) President, Eze Anaba, and Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) President, Maureen Chigbo.
