OSOGBO, OSUN STATE — Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have commenced the sorting and counting of votes across polling units in Osun State following the conclusion of voting in the off-cycle governorship election.
In accordance with electoral guidelines, presiding officers at various polling centers sorted ballots in full view of party agents, security personnel, and accredited observers before counting and declaring the initial unit figures. Following the declaration at polling units, electoral officials began transmitting result sheets to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) Portal for public viewing and subsequent ward collation.

Sorting & Counting Phase: Polling officials systematically sorted unused ballot papers before unfolding and counting cast ballots in the presence of election agents and security teams.

Digital Transmission: Completed polling unit result sheets (Form EC8A) are being scanned and uploaded directly to the INEC IReV Portal to maintain transparency throughout the collation process.

Hierarchy of Collation: Results declared at individual polling units will proceed to Registration Area (Ward) Collation Centers, then Local Government Area (LGA) Collation Centers, before arriving at the State Collation Center in Osogbo for the final declaration.
