President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the commencement of the 2025 Ramadan season, urging them to embrace the values of self-discipline, compassion, and unity that define the holy month.
In a statement released on Friday, the President expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting believers the opportunity to witness the sacred period, emphasizing the significance of fasting, devotion, and acts of kindness toward others.
“Ramadan is a time for deep reflection, renewed devotion to Allah, and acts of compassion and generosity toward humanity,” President Tinubu said. “It is a season of spiritual rejuvenation, self-discipline, and empathy for the less fortunate.”
Highlighting the progress of his administration, Tinubu noted that Nigeria is witnessing signs of economic recovery, with recent policies yielding positive outcomes. He pointed to the improved Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures for the last quarter of 2024, the declining cost of essential food items, the stabilizing exchange rate, and falling fuel prices as indicators of a brighter future for the nation.
“As the wet season approaches, we remain steadfast in boosting agricultural productivity,” he stated. “Our determination to enhance food production and ensure self-sufficiency and food security remains unwavering through targeted input support, mechanisation, and innovative farming initiatives.”
The President called on Nigerians to use the holy month as an opportunity to strengthen bonds with Allah and one another, fostering national unity and peace. He encouraged collective prayers and actions for the continued growth and development of the country.
“Let us fervently seek Allah’s guidance and protection for our nation, and let our words and deeds reflect our shared commitment to peace, unity, and progress,” he said.
President Tinubu concluded his message by extending his best wishes to all Muslims observing Ramadan, praying for a month filled with joy, peace, and spiritual renewal.
“May the blessings of this holy month illuminate our hearts and homes, and may we emerge from it as better individuals and a stronger nation,” he said.
