DJ Chicken calls Seyi Tinubu daddy, adopts his photo after release

Controversial TikTok personality and content creator Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has sparked intense reactions across social media after changing his Instagram profile picture to a photograph of Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, just hours after regaining his freedom.

The entertainer was released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, after spending nearly two weeks in custody and fulfilling his bail conditions.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, DJ Chicken shared videos of Seyi Tinubu alongside a caption reading “Hmm ddddy,” completing his online turnaround by replacing his avatar with the President’s son.

The Origin of the Arrest

The content creator was remanded in Kirikiri following his arraignment before a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba on a three-count charge involving:

  • Violations under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act

  • Conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace

  • Alleged death threats and menacing messages directed at Seyi Tinubu

The legal troubles stemmed from a viral video clip recorded earlier in July, in which DJ Chicken claimed President Bola Tinubu would not secure re-election in 2027 and made inflammatory remarks interpreted as physical threats against Seyi Tinubu. Although DJ Chicken released a retraction video explaining that his comments were merely a “joke” designed to generate online clout and views, state prosecutors proceeded with formal charges.

“People Who Are Free Don’t Know What God Has Done”

Appearing alongside his legal team in a video celebrating his release, DJ Chicken expressed relief and extended praise to government authorities and the Tinubu family:

“I’m back oo, freedom at last. God bless the Nigerian government, God bless Seyi Tinubu, and our President. I love you guys. It is not easy, my fans. People that are free don’t know what God has done for them. Freedom is good.” DJ Chicken
