Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has extended her commanding lead in the ongoing Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) national officers’ election.
As voting progressed into Saturday night, real-time data from the official election dashboard showed Badejo-Okusanya widening the gap significantly. By the time her count surpassed the 10,554-vote milestone on its way to over 11,200 votes, she had secured a dominant 46.62% of the total ballots cast for the presidential category.

With total voter turnout surpassing 24,000 out of the 82,164 lawyers registered nationwide, the live dashboard reflected a steep hill to climb for the other contenders:

The comfortable lead follows a turbulent start to the voting exercise. Originally scheduled to kick off electronically at exactly midnight on Saturday, July 18, 2026, the entire process was plunged into immediate crisis.
The Electoral Committee of the NBA (ECNBA) was forced to issue an emergency statement announcing an indefinite operational delay due to a “deliberate, coordinated, and sustained cyberattack” launched by external actors trying to breach the secure servers.
