ENUGU — Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has called on the Igbo nation to undergo a fundamental mindset shift, arguing that individual achievements must be channeled into building formidable, lasting institutions to secure long-term collective prosperity for the South-East region.
Delivering an address at the TEDxEnugu event in Enugu on Saturday, October 10, 2026, the governor noted that while Ndigbo are globally celebrated for personal enterprise and commercial resilience, these individual successes have created a collective vacuum by failing to translate into organized institutional power.
Soludo urged Ndigbo to adopt the strategic development models of the Chinese, Jewish, and Indian diasporas, emphasizing that building a modern, competitive homeland requires transitioning away from fragmented efforts toward structured, long-term investments in regional security, infrastructure, and technology.
The governor stressed that moving past historical grievances requires pragmatic national engagement, economic diplomacy, and pan-Nigerian political coalitions rather than isolationist rhetoric, insisting that strategic alignment remains essential for the Igbo race to secure its equitable share of federal resources and development initiatives.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to transforming Anambra State into a premier livable hub, Soludo challenged the global Igbo diaspora to intentional homeland investments—particularly in artificial intelligence, digital innovation, gas pipelines, rail transport, and regional power networks—to build a self-sustaining regional economy for future generations.
