President Tinubu urges unity, hope in Easter message to Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians across Nigeria and around the world, urging citizens to draw strength from the season’s message of sacrifice, hope, and renewal.

In a statement released from the State House, President Tinubu said Easter, which marks the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, remains a cornerstone of the Christian faith and offers an enduring message for all Nigerians, regardless of religion.

“The Holy Week… calls us to reflect deeply on the enduring values of sacrifice, redemption, love, and hope,” he said. “I remain steadfast in my commitment to delivering the promise of a Renewed Hope—a better, more just, and prosperous Nigeria for all.”

The President also expressed deep sorrow over recent tragic incidents that claimed lives in parts of the country, acknowledging the pain and fear caused by insecurity.

“I understand the pain… Let me assure you that my administration’s resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakable,” Tinubu said. He revealed that he has directed the Armed Forces and security agencies to take decisive action against threats to peace, asserting that “forces of evil will never prevail over our country.”

On the economic front, President Tinubu noted that while challenges remain, signs of recovery are emerging. He thanked Nigerians for their patience and resilience as the government works to stabilize the economy and build a more inclusive system.

He also took a moment to celebrate the recovery of Pope Francis, offering prayers that the pontiff’s renewed strength continues to inspire global leadership and service to humanity.

Reflecting on the symbolism of Easter, the President encouraged citizens to remain united and hopeful, emphasizing that just as Christ triumphed over death, Nigeria too would overcome its challenges.

“The present moment may be cloudy,” he said, “but it will usher in a glorious day… Our unity and resilience are our greatest strengths.”

President Tinubu concluded with a prayer for peace in Nigerian homes and continued unity and prosperity across the nation.

“Happy Easter to all my fellow Nigerians,” he said.
