Suspected political thugs invade Ondo Assembly complex

In what appears to be a continuation of the battle of wit between the Governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Agboola Ajayi, on the latter’s defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state, some suspected political thugs invaded the state House of Assembly  on Monday morning, apparently to disallow lawmakers loyal to the Deputy governor access to their offices.

The thugs who came in buses and took position along the roads leading to the Assembly complex and in the premises, were said to have confirmed that their mission was to ensure the Deputy Speaker of the House, Ogundeji Iroju and eight other legislators suspended by the House for standing in solidarity with Agboola Ajayi, but recently reinstated by the court does not resume for legislative duties.

Also seen around the Assembly are armed policemen stationed to forestall a breakdown of law and other and men of the Department of State Security (DSS)
