The Federal Government has soft-launched the Government Service Portal (GSP), a centralized digital gateway designed to grant citizens and businesses access to public services across multiple Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) through a single online platform.
Unveiled in Abuja on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the portal was developed by Galaxy Backbone in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) as a core component of Nigeria’s e-Government Masterplan 2.0.

The new platform focuses on dismantling the fragmented ecosystem of individual MDA websites by introducing a consolidated approach to public service delivery:

Single Sign-On (SSO): Citizens create one verified account to interact with all participating government institutions, eliminating the need for repeated registrations across different portals.

Nigerian Digital Exchange Integration: The platform links directly into national data exchange protocols, allowing authorized agencies to share data securely so users only submit personal documents once.

End-to-End Processing: Designed to streamline public inquiries, license applications, fee payments, and administrative requests without requiring physical visits to government offices.

Phased MDA Onboarding: The soft launch begins with a select group of pioneer agencies to gather user feedback, optimize system security, and refine one-time password (OTP) delivery before a nationwide rollout.

Leadership Stance on Digital Transformation
Speaking at the launch, Galaxy Backbone CEO Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju emphasized that government structures should adapt to citizen needs rather than institutional boundaries:

Preliminary user testing across the six geopolitical zones showed an 80%+ ease-of-use rating among pilot participants. The ministry has called on all remaining federal agencies to integrate their service modules into the GSP architecture as full deployment approaches.
