Iran vice-president, minister, lawmaker contract coronavirus

Iranian vice-president, Massoumeh Ebtekar, who acted as a spokeswoman for the students who held 52 United States citizens for 444 days in the seventies has contracted the coronavirus virus.

Ms. Ebtekar who was known as Mary during the Iranian hostage crisis is being treated at home according to sources.

Besides her, Mojtaba Zolnour, a lawmaker representing Qom, the epicenter of the contravirus crisis in Iran has also been reported to have contracted the virus.

The virus has already cost 26 lives in Iran the highest death rate outside of China.

The latest development follows earlier reports two days ago that the deputy health minister Iraj Harirchi, head of the government’s coronavirus task force, had contracted the virus.
