ABUJA — The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that its expanding organizational footprint, featuring over 13 million registered members, 31 state governors, and a network of more than 261,000 ward executive officers, provides the party with an unassailable strategic edge over opposition coalitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party leadership released the metrics on Sunday, November 1, 2026, following a comprehensive review of its ongoing nationwide electronic membership registration exercise and recent high-level political realignments across the geopolitical zones.
According to official figures disclosed by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), the digitized membership drive—which requires a valid National Identification Number (NIN) for verification—has significantly consolidated the APC’s grassroots database while reducing instances of duplicate registrations.
“With 31 state governors aligning under the progressive banner, over 261,000 ward and local executive structures fully operational, and 13 million verified card-carrying members, the APC maintains an unmatched operational framework,” a senior party official stated in Abuja. “Our focus remains on delivering the socio-economic milestones of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration while expanding our electoral footprint in all regions.”
The APC’s assertion comes amid intensifying preparatory maneuvers by rival political parties and opposition alliances attempting to pool structures ahead of the upcoming electoral season. Party strategists expressed confidence that the combination of institutional state presence, digitized member tracking, and grassroots mobilization will ensure victory across legislative and executive contests nationwide.
