
KATSINA — Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has formally presented a proposed ₦828.64 billion appropriation bill for the 2027 fiscal year to the Katsina State House of Assembly. The legislative submission follows the proposal’s prior approval by the State Executive Council during its regular session at Government House, Katsina.
Tagged “Building Your Future Agenda IV,” the 2027 draft budget—totaling ₦828,638,844,091.48—reflects a reduction of ₦69.23 billion compared to the 2026 approved fiscal budget. State officials attributed the lower outlay to recalibrated revenue projections and realistic funding estimates for the upcoming fiscal year.
In line with the administration’s development-focused agenda, the fiscal framework commits 77 percent (₦638.05 billion) of total expenditure to capital development, while 23 percent (₦190.59 billion) is allocated to recurrent expenditure.
The executive branch outlined that the fiscal estimate will be financed through ₦95.77 billion in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), ₦234.30 billion in capital receipts, ₦487.81 billion from other projected receipts, and an estimated opening balance of ₦10.7 billion.
Under the sectoral allocation, the Social Sector receives the largest share at 38.33 percent, followed closely by the Economic Sector at 35.59 percent, Administration at 23.97 percent, and Law and Justice at 1.11 percent. Specific priority sectors within the capital plan include Education (13.41%), Works, Housing and Transport (11.22%), Agriculture and Livestock Development (10.33%), Health (8.41%), and Rural Development (7.92%).
