The United States military has begun fresh training for the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The United States Africa Command, AFRICOM, made this disclosure in a report published on Monday, August 24, 2026.
AFRICOM stated that the training is focused on improving the ability of Nigerian military personnel to handle combat situations, use unmanned aircraft systems and respond to security threats.
The US military also noted that the training is aimed at improving cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.
According to AFRICOM, the training is being conducted at Operating Location Bauchi as part of a wider US-Nigeria security cooperation programme.
