A physically challenged voter, Aminat Akinsola, says she was happy with the way officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, treated her when she went to cast her vote in the ongoing Osun governorship election.
The physically challenged woman, who voted at Ejigbo Ward 4, Unit 6, stated that she was particularly pleased with the attention and assistance given to her because of her condition.
“I’m so happy because I was treated with respect while I was trying to cast my vote. I was even the first person to be accredited,” she said.
Akinsola applauded the peaceful conduct of the voting process, expressing the confidence that the eventual outcome of the election would reflect the will of the people of Osun State.
Meanwhile, security personnel deployed to the polling unit were seen maintaining order and coordinating arrangements to ensure that voters could exercise their franchise without disruption.
Young voters were also organised separately according to gender as part of measures to ensure an orderly voting process.
