‘We’ll Deliver Rivers and FCT for Tinubu in 2027’ — Wike Insists

ABUJA — The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he will secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in both Rivers State and the FCT in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during a political strategy meeting with key stakeholders and allies under the banner of the “Rainbow Coalition” in Abuja, Wike dismissed opposition threats, asserting his firm political control over both operational bases.
Wike maintained that his appointment to the President’s campaign structure as coordinator for both territories reflects total confidence in his capacity to deliver massive electoral numbers.
“For the presidency, all of us have agreed that it is Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Wike stated. “I am going to coordinate the campaign in the FCT and Rivers State. I am the commander of field operations as far as the elections in these areas are concerned. Opposition threats will not change the reality on the ground.”
Addressing critics and political rivals—including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi—Wike contended that the opposition remains fragmented and incapable of offering a credible alternative to the current administration.
He argued that ongoing infrastructure projects across the nation’s capital and strategic political realignment in the Niger Delta region will serve as the foundation for the President’s re-election campaign.
