FBI Captures Six Most-Wanted Fraudsters Across Four Continents and Seizes $17 Billion

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced the capture of six fugitives from its Most-Wanted Fraudsters list following coordinated law enforcement operations conducted across four continents.

The operations—which form part of the FBI’s ongoing global initiative against international scam syndicates and financial fraud networks—have resulted in the recovery and seizure of nearly $17 billion in cash, cryptocurrency, and illicit assets.

The announcement was made via official statements issued on Sunday by FBI Director Kash Patel, who disclosed that the six high-profile fugitives had collectively spent over 4,000 days evading international law enforcement, with fraud cases linked to their operations involving over $2 billion in financial losses.

Captured Fugitives List

The six suspects apprehended during the multi-jurisdictional sting operations include:

  • Manjit Singh Bedi

  • Elaine Agene Esco

  • Khalid Ahmed Satary

  • Herbert Leon Kimble

  • Sahid Abdullahi Ereg

  • Emylee Thai

“These six fugitives collectively spent more than 4,000 days on the run. They believed that fleeing the United States and hiding abroad would put them beyond the reach of American law enforcement,” Patel stated. “They were wrong. Our message to criminals targeting Americans from overseas is simple: justice will find you.”

Operation Blackout Sweeps West Africa

Alongside the fugitive apprehensions, the FBI director highlighted major breakthroughs under Operation Blackout, a specialized global campaign targeting cross-border cybercrime enterprises, romance scams, and corporate wire fraud.

As part of the operational sweep in West Africa, the FBI partnered with Nigerian law enforcement agencies and security operatives in London to raid multiple illicit scam hubs, resulting in the arrest of nine suspects in Nigeria, the seizure of 53 digital devices, and the identification of $11 million in freezeable international funds.

Director Patel commended Nigerian law enforcement authorities for their strategic cooperation in dismantling international cybercrime networks and freeing human trafficking victims forced into operating overseas call-center scams. Authorities noted that preventative intelligence deployed during Operation Blackout has warned over 10,000 potential victims worldwide, saving an estimated $670 million in prospective losses.
