Insecurity: It’s unnecessary for citizens to bear arms – Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State Tuesday said that the security situation in his state has not degenerated to that level of allowing citizens with latitude to arm themselves in a bid to stem the menace.

Speaking to newsmen after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Uzidimma said the security agencies in Imo were on top of the situation in the state.

The Governor stated that even though he was not in Zamfara State and therefore could not say why exactly the governor was making the move, the security agencies in Imo state were in firm control of the situation, adding that the state has greatly improved.

Uzondinma announced that President Buhari has approved the hosting of Army Day in Imo, saying that the measure would further improve the security in the state.

He thanked the President for his approval for the event which is expected to take place during President Buhari’s visit to commission a number of sundry projects in the state.
