Atiku Rejects Nullification Ruling, Directs Challenge at Tinubu and Declares Candidacy Unshakable

ABUJA — Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has issued a direct challenge to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that no judicial maneuver or state pressure will prevent him from contesting the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking through an official statement issued in response to the Federal High Court ruling that voided his party nomination and sacked the interim National Working Committee led by David Mark, the former Vice President dismissed the judgment as a orchestrated attempt to frustrate his momentum.

“I am fully in this race, and I will be on the ballot in 2027,” Atiku asserted, framing the ruling as a reflection of growing panic within ruling political circles following his campaign events across northern states. “If the ruling party is confident in its governance performance and democratic strength, it should meet me at the polls rather than relying on judicial technicalities to eliminate opposition candidates before a single vote is cast.”

Atiku questioned the legal continuity of the suit, pointing out that an earlier Federal High Court decision presided over by Justice Musa Liman had already affirmed the legitimacy of the David Mark-led interim executive. He questioned why a fresh suit was entertained by the trial court to overturn a subsisting matter, describing the latest verdict as a judicial anomaly designed to sow confusion within the opposition fold.

Reassuring supporters across the country, the ADC presidential candidate confirmed that his legal team has already filed a comprehensive appeal alongside an application for a stay of execution. He emphasized that campaign operations, consultations, and state rallies will continue as planned, maintaining that the appellate courts will uphold internal party sovereignty and protect the integrity of the 2027 electoral process.
